Towers Realty Group has long been committed to reducing the carbon footprint of our portfolio of rental communities. To help raise awareness for Earth Day, we wanted to share some of the ways Towers Realty Group has transformed our properties into more eco-friendly, yet comfortable places to call home.
- Energy efficiency upgrades:
Over the past 10 years, Towers has renovated or constructed more than 50% of its properties to include energy-efficient upgrades, such as appliances that help reduce energy consumption by up to 80%; energy-efficient windows, which retain the inside temperature for a longer time saving up to 50% of the energy needed for heating buildings and suites. And installation of water-saving plumbing fixtures and eco-friendly common area lighting solutions to further reduce the carbon footprint of our properties.
- Electric Vehicle Charging Stations:
Our recent developments such as The Oaks on St. Mary’s Road, and all future developments planned, have been outfitted with EV charging stations for our environmentally conscious residents who drive electric vehicles. Who knows, the availability of electric vehicle charging at rental properties might also encourage future and current residents to opt for more sustainable vehicles in the future?
- Partnership with Peg City Car Co-op:
Did you know some of our buildings have Peg City Car Co-op vehicles on site? You heard that right; car share vehicles are located at Crescent Tower, Olympic Tower, Oakton Manor, and Royal Oak Court – Towers Residents get a $100 driving credit, plus a $25 member application fee is waived when they sign up for a Peg City Car Co-op membership.
